Research Team
The Family Nutrition Lab is directed by Dr. Tugault-Lafleur and is housed in School of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Dr Tugault-Lafleur is a registered dietitian and has worked as a pediatric dietitian at the BC Children's Hospital in obesity and eating disorder prevention and treatment. She also worked as a community dietitian on issues related to school food.
Dr Tugault-Lafleur research is multidisciplinary, integrating both population-level and behavioural approaches to promote health and well-being among children, youth and families. She works in public health nutrition and collaborates with community partners, government and non-governmental organizations to ensure research is informed by priority questions identified in Canadian communities. She is an affiliate researcher at at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute (Vancouver), the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and l’Institut du Savoir Montfort (Ottawa).

Emma recently graduated from uOttawa with an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences, specializing in Integrative Biosciences. She chose to further her education in Nutrition at uOttawa, aiming to adopt a holistic approach to health.

Gyselle is a Master's candidate at the University of Ottawa, with a background in clinical nutrition. Her research focuses on the inequities of eating behaviours among Canadian youth. She believes that understanding the broader social and structural factors impacting health is key to creating policies and interventions that genuinely make a difference.
